RTX 5070 Ti Price Nearly 2x MSRP? Buy Now or Wait?

The RTX 5070 Ti price just took another big jump. According to price tracking by VideoCardz, the cheapest GeForce RTX 5070 Ti at major US retailers was US$1,339.99 on November 6, 2026, about 79% above NVIDIA's US$749 launch MSRP. TechPowerUp and Notebookcheck reported the same figures, and the news spread quickly on X, including in this TechPowerUp post. Here's what is confirmed, what is still only a report, and what it means if you're shopping for a graphics card.

How much has the RTX 5070 Ti price gone up?

VideoCardz says the lowest tracked US offer was US$1,179.99 on October 29 and US$1,339.99 on November 6. That's a US$160 increase in eight days, or about 13.6%. In Canadian dollars, that's a move from roughly C$1,665 to C$1,891. These are estimates converted from US dollars at the Bank of Canada rate of November 6, 2026 (1.4113), before taxes, not Canadian retail prices.

Some models have already reached twice the MSRP. VideoCardz and Notebookcheck list the GIGABYTE RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC at US$1,339.99 at Newegg, the ASUS PRIME OC at US$1,399.99 and the ASUS TUF GAMING OC at US$1,499.99 (about C$2,117, estimate) at B&H, and the GIGABYTE GAMING OC at about US$1,400 at Best Buy. Those prices exclude sales tax.

One important caveat, which VideoCardz states itself: these numbers follow the cheapest available card across different models, not a price hike on one specific card. Part of the jump may simply come from cheaper models selling out. The direction is still clearly up.

Is it only happening in the US?

No. TechPowerUp says the cheapest RTX 5070 Ti listing on the German price comparison site Geizhals was €1,300 for a PNY model, about 48% above the €879 European MSRP.

Why are RTX 5070 Ti prices climbing?

The clearest official explanation is memory. When discontinuation rumors hit in January 2026, ASUS said the RTX 5070 Ti had not been designated end-of-life, but that memory supply constraints were affecting production and restocking. According to VideoCardz, the card never returned to MSRP after that.

The RTX 5070 Ti is also following the cards above it. VideoCardz and Notebookcheck report RTX 5080 offers approaching twice its US$999 MSRP, and both the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 have disappeared from NVIDIA's US Marketplace. TechPowerUp adds that NVIDIA's board partners in China are reportedly raising RTX 5070 Ti prices by around 1,000 RMB (about US$150) this week, with retail prices expected to follow within a week or two. That last point is a report, not an official announcement.

Is the RTX 5070 Ti discontinued?

Not according to official statements. In January 2026, NVIDIA denied the rumors and said it continued shipping all GeForce SKUs, and ASUS said the card was not end-of-life. The RTX 5070 Ti is still listed at major retailers. In the reports we reviewed, NVIDIA had not commented publicly on the latest price data.

Should you buy an RTX 5070 Ti now or wait?

It depends on how urgently you need a GPU:

  • If your current card still does the job, wait. At 79% over MSRP, you're paying a large premium, and nothing in these reports points to a return to US$749 soon.
  • If you need to upgrade now, don't expect waiting to save money. TechPowerUp expects prices to keep rising for a while, and the Chinese partner price hikes, if confirmed, would add pressure. Compare models carefully: on November 6, the cheapest listing was about US$160 below the US$1,499.99 models.
  • If you're building from scratch, look at the full system cost. A complete machine can make more sense than chasing a standalone card at twice its MSRP.
