Spellcasters Chronicles enters closed beta
Quantic Dream, the studio known for cinematic story driven games, is stepping into the action MOBA space with Spellcasters Chronicles. Instead of traditional three lane gameplay, this new title focuses on fast paced battles between teams of three players backed by hordes of grunts and mythical creatures, all fighting for control of the map.
The game has already been shown in previews and is now opening up to a wider audience through a limited time closed beta. For PC gamers who enjoy competitive online games with a strong fantasy theme, this is a good chance to get in early and help shape how the game evolves before it hits early access.
The first public beta session runs from December 4 at 3 pm UTC until December 8 at 9 am UTC. During this window, players in Europe and North America will be able to jump into matches, try several different characters and playstyles, and see how the game performs on their own setups.
Classes, titans, and chaotic battles
Spellcasters Chronicles focuses on powerful magic users called spellcasters, each with unique roles and decks of abilities. In this beta you will be able to experiment with six different characters split into three main archetypes.
Duelists The Swamp Witch and the Astral Monk focus on direct combat and dueling enemy players. Expect strong one on one potential and aggressive playstyles.
Conquerers The Iron Sorcerer and the Fire Elementalist are designed to control territory and push objectives. They fit players who like to dominate key areas of the map.
Enchanters The Mystic Scribe and the Stone Shaman bring more supportive or tactical options, shaping the battlefield with utility and clever setups.
Each spellcaster comes with a variety of elements to customize your approach:
Decks Different ability loadouts let you tweak how your character plays, from burst damage to control and support.
Expendable summons You can call in creatures to fight alongside you, adding extra pressure in team fights or helping you control lanes and objectives.
Abilities and ultimates Every character has a set of active skills plus a powerful ultimate that charges up as the match goes on, giving you a game changing move when the time is right.
One of the flashiest features is the ability to summon titans, massive beasts that tower over the battlefield. These creatures are described as skyscraper sized monsters capable of destroying almost anything in their path. Using titans at the right moment can completely turn a match, so expect big swings in momentum and plenty of chaos when both teams start dropping these monsters onto the map.
The design goal, according to game director Gregorie Diaconu, is to create a game that rewards adaptation, creativity, and teamwork. Spellcasters Chronicles is built around team synergy, so coordinating with your two teammates, combining abilities, and timing ultimates and titan summons will likely be the key to winning matches.
How to join the beta and what comes next
If you want to try Spellcasters Chronicles during this first closed beta window, there are two main ways to sign up on PC.
Steam Head to the Spellcasters Chronicles page on Steam and register for the playtest or closed beta through the options provided there.
Official website You can also sign up directly through the official Spellcasters Chronicles website, where you will find a beta signup form and more information about the game.
Not everyone who applies will receive access for this first beta weekend. However, if you do not get in, your application will stay valid for future testing phases. That means you will still have a chance to join later sessions without needing to sign up again.
This initial closed beta is focused on gathering real player feedback. The developers want to watch how people play, listen to community impressions, and iterate quickly. Based on that feedback, they plan to tweak balance, refine systems, and improve the overall feel of the game before early access.
A second closed beta is already planned for early next year. That follow up test will expand the amount of content available, including:
New spellcasters with fresh playstyles
Additional arenas to fight in
More incantations and summons to deepen your combat options
Extra gameplay features that build on what is in the first test
The studio also mentions a community driven narrative, suggesting that player actions or feedback might influence how the world and story of Spellcasters Chronicles develop over time.
For PC players who enjoy competitive online games, this closed beta is a chance to test performance on your own hardware, try out different character roles, and see whether the titan summoning chaos fits your style. With more betas and early access on the way, jumping in early means you can help shape how this new action MOBA grows.
