Monster Hunter Stories Joins GeForce NOW: New Cloud Games and RTX 5080 Power

Monster Hunter Stories Rides Into The Cloud

Monster Hunter fans have a new way to play. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are now available on GeForce NOW, letting you dive into the Monster Hunter universe without worrying about downloads, installs or hardware upgrades.

Unlike the main Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories focuses on turn based role playing action. Instead of hunting monsters, you become a Monster Rider who bonds with creatures, raises them and fights alongside them.

The original Monster Hunter Stories returns with some welcome upgrades. The game is now fully voiced in both Japanese and English, which adds more personality to the characters and story. There is also a new museum mode where you can listen to the soundtrack and browse concept art, perfect if you enjoy exploring the world and its lore as much as the battles.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin continues the turn based adventure with a fresh story, new characters and more Monsties to befriend and fight with. You take on the role of a Rider drawn into a mystery surrounding a legendary Rathalos and the so called Wings of Ruin. The combat blends classic turn based systems with Monster Hunter inspired skills and flashy animations.

The best part for PC gamers is that both titles are now playable through GeForce NOW. That means you can stream them from powerful GeForce RTX servers to devices you already own. Whether you are on a low end laptop, a basic desktop, a tablet or even a phone, you can explore lush environments and cinematic battles at high settings because all the heavy lifting is done in the cloud.

With cloud saves and account syncing you can start a session on your desktop, continue on your laptop in another room and even squeeze in a few fights on your phone when you are away from home.

Cloud Gaming Meets Award Contenders

This update is not just about Monster Hunter. GeForce NOW is leaning into awards season with a strong lineup of nominees that you can stream instantly. Many Game of the Year contenders and big category favorites are available in the cloud so you can sample the hype without filling your SSD.

Game of the Year hopefuls like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II are streamable on the service. If you love role playing games, there is a packed list of RPGs ready to play from the cloud including:

  • Avowed
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • The Outer Worlds 2

Other award nominated games are also in the library. Action fans can jump into Battlefield 6 and DOOM: The Dark Ages for high intensity combat. Adventure lovers can explore Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle or Split Fiction. Strategy players get options like The Alters and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.

Multiplayer is covered too. ARC Raiders and PEAK are both nominated in the multiplayer category, and of course esports staples like Counter Strike 2 and DOTA 2 are available for competitive sessions. If you prefer indies, titles like Blue Prince and Hollow Knight: Silksong highlight how GeForce NOW is not just about big triple A blockbusters.

Within the GeForce NOW app you can find a dedicated row for The Game Awards. It is a curated shelf of award nominated games that you can click and start playing almost instantly. No patching, no driver tweaks, just jump in and let the RTX hardware in the cloud do the work.

RTX 5080 Class Streaming And New Rewards

For performance focused gamers, GeForce NOW’s Ultimate membership is where the tech gets interesting. Ultimate members get access to GeForce RTX 5080 class servers, which Nvidia claims can deliver up to 2.8 times higher frame rates compared to previous generations. This brings a serious boost in responsiveness and visual quality for fast paced shooters, competitive multiplayer and visually demanding single player titles.

There is also a Cinematic Quality Streaming mode designed to push image quality to another level. It is aimed at players who want their cloud streamed games to look as close to a high end local PC as possible, with sharper details and cleaner motion during intense firefights.

Ultimate members are also getting a cosmetic bonus in ARC Raiders. You can claim the Electrician Backpack: Emerald Wave Variant, an in game backpack skin that gives your Raider a cleaner, high tech look during extraction missions. Once you receive the reward via email and redeem it, just select the Emerald Wave color on the Electrician Backpack in game to equip it.

The reward is available through Sunday January 4, 2026 or while supplies last, so Ultimate members who enjoy co op shooters may want to grab it early.

Fresh Games And RTX 5080 Ready Titles

Alongside the Monster Hunter Stories duo, GeForce NOW is adding a handful of new and notable games to the cloud. Everdream Village stands out as a cozy farming and village building game where you turn a sleepy island into a relaxed paradise. You can plant crops, befriend quirky villagers, manage animals and even sail off to discover magical neighboring islands.

Several new releases are also joining the service across Steam and Xbox, some of them available through Game Pass for extra value:

  • Skate Story
  • Dome Keeper
  • Death Howl
  • RuneQuest: Warlords
  • Everdream Village
  • Monster Hunter Stories
  • Monster Hunter Stories 2

On the performance side Nvidia is also highlighting RTX 5080 ready games. These are titles that can really benefit from the extra cloud horsepower. The list includes:

  • Age of Wonders 4
  • Cities: Skylines
  • Cities: Skylines II

With strategy and city building games like these, higher frame rates and smoother performance make busy late game cities and massive battles feel more responsive, which is especially useful when your own hardware might struggle to keep up.

Whether you want to raise Monsties in Monster Hunter Stories, push your RTX 5080 class stream with city builders, or just sample award nominated games without touching your local storage, GeForce NOW’s latest update gives PC gamers and cloud gamers plenty of options to explore this weekend.
