How to Beat the Communication Hideout Quest in Arc Raiders

What the Communication Hideout Quest Is All About

The Communication Hideout quest in Arc Raiders sends you to the Red Tower in the Buried City and asks you to get some old tech back online. The good news is you do not have to extract anything, so you can roll in with a free loadout and play a lot more aggressively.

Everything you need to do is centered around Red Tower. The entire quest boils down to two main jobs:

  • Find a missing battery cell and power up a generator.
  • Boot up a hidden antenna terminal on the outside of the tower.

Both objectives are in a pretty small area, but the quest can get annoying if you are wandering in circles looking for the battery box or the terminal. Here is a clear step by step path so you can finish the quest fast and move on to the next raid.

How to Find the Missing Battery and Power the Generator

First travel to Red Tower, which sits in the southern part of the Buried City. Once you arrive, the quest will tell you to find the missing battery cell. It is not inside the tower. Instead, you are looking for a metal box out on the street nearby.

Here is how to grab the battery with minimum searching:

  • Face Red Tower and look toward the northeast side of the area. You want the street that runs just past the tower.
  • Scan along the street until you spot a small kiosk that is boarded up. It should look like a street stall or tiny shop that has been closed off.
  • Next to this kiosk there is a palm tree and a metal box with yellow markings on it. The box is right up against the side of the kiosk.

This yellow marked box is just like the containers you have opened for other quest items. Walk up to it and interact to pull out the missing battery cell.

With the battery in hand you are ready to restore power. You do not have to haul it far. The generator you need is basically right behind you:

  • Turn around from the kiosk and the battery box and look toward the tower and the nearby subway entrance.
  • On the street between Red Tower and that entrance there is a small generator unit wired into the tower. It stands out because of the cables running up to the structure.
  • The generator has a visible slot where the battery is supposed to go, similar to what you see when you power up a field crate at a depot.

Interact with the generator to install the battery. Once it is slotted in, use the power switch located at the end of the generator housing. When you flip that switch, the generator kicks on and you have successfully restored power to Red Tower.

With the power problem solved the quest objective will shift to the next task. Now you need to boot the antenna terminal that is tied to the generator you just powered.

Where to Find and Boot the Antenna Terminal

The last step is the one that confuses most players. The antenna terminal you need is not on the ground level and it is not immediately visible from the street. You have to go into Red Tower and climb up to an outer platform on the upper level.

Follow these steps to reach it quickly:

  • From the generator, look at the side of Red Tower. There is a window just to the right of the generator setup.
  • Go through that window to enter the interior of the tower.
  • Once inside, find the stairs and climb up to the roof area. You are heading toward the top but not all the way to a tall spire or anything huge, just the accessible roof platform.
  • On the roof you should see a ladder that leads to an upper exterior platform. Take the ladder up.

When you reach the upper platform the important part is where you go next:

  • As soon as you get off the ladder, turn right.
  • Walk along the outside platform that wraps around the building.
  • Follow it around the corner of Red Tower. Do not drop down or climb further up.

On this exterior walkway, around the corner, you will see a yellow marked terminal set into the structure. This is the antenna terminal you have been looking for.

All that is left to do is interact with that terminal. The system will boot up, and the Communication Hideout quest will complete on the spot. No extraction run, no extra objectives, just a clean finish and whatever rewards you have coming.

If you are exploring Arc Raiders more deeply, it is worth learning the layout of Buried City during this quest. Red Tower sits near other activities like field depots and crates, so once you know the streets and platforms around it, you can move between quests and loot spots a lot faster on future runs.
