Trump Praises Nvidia CEO at AI Summit and Discusses US Leadership in Artificial Intelligence

At a recent AI summit in Washington DC, former President Donald Trump introduced an ambitious AI Action Plan to keep the United States at the forefront of artificial intelligence. One of the main goals is to build even larger and more advanced data centers, which are key for AI development. When it comes to powering these data centers, Trump learned that Nvidia is the leading company. In a humorous moment, he admitted he did not even know what Nvidia was at first and asked, 'What the hell is Nvidia?'

Trump went on to praise Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, calling him a 'great guy' and applauding the company's achievements. According to Trump, some experts say Nvidia is so far ahead in AI chips that even if they made bad decisions for ten years, other companies still would not catch up. Trump joked about the idea of increasing competition by breaking up Nvidia, but he was told this would be nearly impossible because of Nvidia's huge lead.

Also present at the summit was AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su. While Trump focused much of his attention on Nvidia, he did recognize Dr. Su with a quick compliment as well. Both CEOs later spoke on a podcast where Jensen Huang expressed that Trump is 'America's unique advantage.'

The AI industry is growing rapidly, and both Nvidia and AMD now play huge roles in this field. Not long ago, AMD was mostly known for its gaming hardware, but now both companies are central to the AI race. Building advanced AI systems requires massive amounts of computing power, and companies like OpenAI and xAI are planning to invest billions of dollars to get more AI chips. Most of these chips come from Nvidia. For example, OpenAI is expanding its Texas data center with more than two million of Nvidia's processors, and xAI is trying to raise twelve billion dollars to buy more Nvidia chips.

There is so much demand for AI hardware that it may affect the availability of chips for gamers. Companies like TSMC in Taiwan, which manufactures most high performance chips, are working to expand their factories in both Taiwan and the United States to keep up with demand.

Overall, the summit showed how important leaders like Jensen Huang and Lisa Su have become for the future of technology. With the United States pushing for more AI investment, Nvidia and AMD are in a strong position to shape the next decade of progress.
