Rematch Update Promises Big Fixes and Crossplay Coming Soon

Rematch is a popular multiplayer soccer game that launched in June. However, it did not have crossplay at launch due to unexpected technical problems. Crossplay will allow players on different platforms to play together. The game developer Sloclap says this feature should arrive by the end of August.

In the meantime, a new patch is available in the Steam beta version of Rematch. This patch does not add crossplay yet but it does address some serious network problems. Players have been frustrated because tackles sometimes did not register and goalkeepers made mistakes that led to unfair goals. These issues made the game less enjoyable, so fixing them is important.

The patch includes improvements to tackles and goalkeeper actions. For example, tackles now work more reliably and goalkeepers should no longer let goals through when they clearly make a save. Visual updates make goalkeeper movements clearer and the ball will now look more accurate during gameplay. There are also fixes for various bugs such as crashes, lag at the end of matches, and issues where the ball cannot be controlled after a player disconnects.

Some features like Quick Match, Ranked mode, Store, and Battle Pass are not available in the beta version but they will return when the patch goes live for everyone. Player progress in the beta is also separate from the main game.

The update includes many other small fixes, like better animations, improved menus, more stable performance, and polished audio. For example, player actions and celebrations now work more smoothly, shop items display correctly, and there are fewer visual glitches in the game.

After this patch is fully released, the next update will focus on adding crossplay and a few gameplay tweaks. The developers plan to launch crossplay by the end of August.
