New AI Assistant Update Expands Support for NVIDIA RTX Graphics Cards

NVIDIA has announced a major update for Project G Assist, its experimental AI assistant for PC gamers and creators. G Assist is a built in AI assistant that helps you control your NVIDIA RTX computer using voice or text commands. You can use it to tune your graphics settings, check performance, adjust your keyboard lighting, and much more, all without digging through menus.

The latest G Assist update comes with a smarter and more efficient AI model that uses 40 percent less graphics memory than before. This means it now works on all NVIDIA RTX graphics cards with 6 gigabytes of memory or more, including many gaming laptops. The update also makes G Assist better at understanding complex commands and responding accurately.

Getting started is easy. Simply install the NVIDIA app and the latest Game Ready Driver, download the G Assist update, and press Alt G to activate the assistant. In the next update, G Assist will be able to handle laptop-specific features like NVIDIA BatteryBoost to improve battery life.

NVIDIA also introduced the G Assist Plug In Hub. Built with mod io, this hub lets users discover and install new features for G Assist made by NVIDIA and the community. You can ask G Assist about available plug ins and install them using simple language. Some creative plug ins from the recent G Assist Hackathon include Omniplay, which helps you pull up game lore and take notes, Launchpad for custom app groups, and Flux NIM for generating AI images directly from G Assist.

On the game modding side, NVIDIA showcased updates to its RTX Remix modding platform. RTX Remix helps modders upgrade classic PC games with modern graphics features like advanced lighting, realistic shadows, and reflections. The community has created hundreds of RTX Remix mods for games such as Half Life 2, Need for Speed Underground, Portal 2, and Deus Ex. Top mods recently won awards in the NVIDIA and ModDB RTX Remix Mod Contest.

A new feature coming to RTX Remix in September adds a powerful particle system with simulated physics and dynamic shadows for more realistic visual effects. This will make it easier than ever to bring new life to older games.

To start using G Assist or create your own mods, just download the NVIDIA app. NVIDIA also offers detailed guides and a friendly community for anyone interested in AI and graphics innovation. Whether you are optimizing your games, exploring advanced PC features, or remastering classics, these new tools from NVIDIA make it easier and more fun for everyone.
