Logitech Unveils Affordable Direct Drive Racing Wheel and Advanced Pedals

Logitech has introduced a new direct drive racing wheel base called the RS50 and a set of sturdy RS Pedals. These products are designed to make sim racing more accessible to beginners and casual players while still offering features that serious racers will appreciate.

The new RS50 wheel base can deliver up to 8 Newton meters of force. This makes it powerful enough to give a realistic driving feel without being too hard to control. Logitech chose this level based on data from their existing products and feedback from users. It seems to offer a good balance between strength and comfort.

The RS50 supports TrueForce technology, which uses real game data and sound to make effects like engine rumble and driving over curbs feel more lifelike. This feature has been praised in more expensive models and is now available in this more affordable option. The RS50 will be sold by itself for around 350 dollars or 300 euros. You will need to buy a wheel and pedals separately if you do not already have them. You can also buy the RS50 as part of a bundle with a wheel for 700 dollars. This bundle comes in versions for Xbox or PlayStation but both sets will work on computer as well.

The new RS Pedals are made with a strong steel frame. The gas pedal uses a sensor called the Hall effect for accuracy and the brake pedal has a load cell which means it responds to pressure just like a real car pedal. This is a feature many experienced drivers look for. The pedals also have smart design touches. The back feet of the pedals can slide out to keep them steady on the floor, and can even be propped up to rest against the wall if you need extra support—which is helpful if you are racing at a desk.

The RS Pedals are reasonably priced at 160 dollars or 150 euros for the standard set. If you want to add a clutch pedal, it will cost a bit more. Most racers use paddle shifters these days but it is nice to have the option.

Overall, Logitech is building a large and flexible range of sim racing gear. The company aims to provide a reliable and enjoyable experience for both new and experienced drivers. With this new equipment, Logitech continues to compete with other big names in sim racing. If you want accurate feedback and strong equipment at a fair price, Logitech’s new products look like a promising choice.
