Intel May Stop Developing Its Newest Chips if It Cannot Attract Big Customers
Share
Intel announced that it might stop working on its upcoming 14A chip technology, which is its first to use an advanced method called High Numerical Aperture Extreme Ultraviolet lithography. This chip technology is at the cutting edge of the semiconductor industry and could make future computers and devices much faster and more efficient.
However, Intel explained that if it does not find a major company willing to buy these new chips or if it does not meet important development goals, it could cancel the project. If this happens, Intel would lose its place as a leader in making the most advanced chips. This would leave companies like TSMC and Samsung as the top providers of the newest and fastest chips in the world.
