How To Find The Stator Blueprint Early In StarRupture

Why the Stator Blueprint Matters in StarRupture

StarRupture drops you onto a brutal alien world full of screeching bugs, punishing sunlight and very little guidance. After a short tutorial you are left to figure out how to survive and how to build up your base almost entirely on your own.

One of the first big steps in your progression is getting the Stator blueprint. This item is an important early production component that lets you craft more advanced gear and complete contracts. The game does not clearly point you toward it, so it is easy to miss even though it is actually quite close to your starting point.

This guide walks you through exactly where to go, what to expect on the way and what to do once you get there so you can grab the Stator blueprint as early and as safely as possible.

Finding Griffith's Research Outpost

When you first step out of your landing pod at the starting zone, take a moment and look around. The Stator blueprint is located at a place called Griffith's Research Outpost which you can spot almost immediately if you know where to look.

Stand just outside your lander and look almost directly north. In the distance, on a ridge, there is a ruined structure. It can be hard to see at first because of the terrain and lighting but it is there. A good way to orient yourself is to find the huge metal turbine that dominates the landscape. Once you have that in view, slowly swing your camera to the left until you see the ruined building on the ridge.

Before you set off make sure you have crafted at least a pistol and some ammunition. You do not need heavy gear or advanced weapons but going in completely unarmed is asking for trouble. There are multiple bug swarms between you and the outpost and you will want to be able to thin them out as you go.

When you are ready, start running straight toward the ruined structure. You can more or less follow a direct line from your lander, heading for the ridge where the outpost sits. As you get closer, adjust your path slightly to the left so you can move around the side of the ridge and then come up the hill with Griffith's Research Outpost on your right. This route helps you avoid some awkward terrain and makes it easier to approach the buildings.

Expect several groups of hostile bugs along the way and around the outpost itself. Take your time, kite them if you need to and do not be afraid to fall back a bit if you get overwhelmed. Ammo management is important early on so try not to waste shots when enemies are far away.

Getting Inside and Grabbing the Blueprint

Once you reach Griffith's Research Outpost you will see two main structures:

  • A double level habitat with the label GRIFFITS BLUECORP on it
  • A single level habitat that is elevated on stilts

The Stator blueprint is inside the raised single story habitat but you cannot just walk straight in from ground level. You need to use the two story building as a stepping stone.

First, jump up into the labeled two level habitat. From there, position yourself so you can jump across into the door area of the elevated one story building. You are essentially using the roof and structure of the GRIFFITS BLUECORP habitat to reach the higher entrance of the smaller building.

Once you are inside the elevated habitat look for a blue chest on the floor behind the desk on your left. Open that chest and you will find the Stator blueprint. This unlocks the ability to fabricate Stators back at your base, which is a big part of progressing your production chain and meeting contract requirements.

Do not rush out the moment you grab it. The outpost area is loaded with extra loot that can give you a strong early game boost.

Looting the Outpost and Using the Stator

Griffith's Research Outpost is more than just a blueprint location. Take the time to explore both habitats and the surrounding area before you leave. You will find:

  • Several bodies that you can loot for gear and resources
  • Additional containers with useful supplies
  • Small piles of rubble you can dig through for extra materials

Keep your pistol handy while you scavenge. StarRupture tends to punish you for success by sending in more bug swarms whenever you find something valuable, and this outpost is no exception. Clear out waves methodically and loot between attacks so you do not get overwhelmed.

When you have grabbed everything worth taking, head back to your base. With the Stator blueprint unlocked you can now craft Stators at your fabricator. Each Stator requires:

  • 2 titanium housings
  • 1 wolfram wire

Stators act as a key mid level component. You can use them to manufacture more complex items that push your technology and defenses forward or you can export them directly to satisfy contracts and earn rewards. Either way, having the Stator blueprint early lets you accelerate your progression and gives you more options for how you want to play.

If you are just starting out in StarRupture, making a quick run to Griffith's Research Outpost for the Stator blueprint is absolutely worth it. With a basic pistol, some ammo and a bit of careful movement, you can secure a powerful production upgrade just a short distance from your landing pod.
