GeForce NOW brings PC gaming to Amazon Fire TV
NVIDIA is keeping the celebration going for the sixth anniversary of GeForce NOW, and this time the party moves straight into the living room. The company has launched a dedicated GeForce NOW app for select Amazon Fire TV devices, letting you stream PC games directly to your TV without needing a console or gaming PC in the room.
GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s cloud gaming platform that lets you stream games you already own on PC stores like Steam and other supported platforms. Instead of relying on your local hardware, the game runs on powerful GeForce RTX servers in the cloud and streams the video output to your device. Your controller or mouse and keyboard inputs are sent back to the server, so you are effectively remote playing a high end gaming rig.
With the new Fire TV support, that experience is now available on more screens than ever. If you have a compatible Fire TV Stick, all you need is a decent internet connection and a controller to turn your TV into a PC gaming display.
How GeForce NOW works on Fire TV
The GeForce NOW app is now available on the Amazon Appstore for a selection of Fire TV devices. Initial support includes:
- Fire TV Stick 4K Plus second generation with Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max second generation with Fire OS 8.1.6.0 or later
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max first generation with Fire OS 7.7.1.1 or later
On these devices, GeForce NOW currently streams at up to 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, using H.264 video encoding and standard dynamic range graphics with stereo audio. That means you can get smooth, console class visuals on a budget streaming stick, powered entirely by NVIDIA’s RTX servers.
To get started, you simply:
- Download the GeForce NOW app from the Amazon Appstore on your Fire TV device
- Connect a compatible controller via Bluetooth or USB adapter
- Sign in to your GeForce NOW account
- Connect your Steam, Xbox or other supported accounts and launch games from your library
There is no need for extra gaming hardware in the living room. As long as your internet is solid, you get PC quality performance rendered in the cloud and streamed to your TV. This is especially appealing if your main gaming PC is in another room, or if you are a laptop and handheld user who still wants a big screen experience without buying a console.
This Fire TV release builds on GeForce NOW’s existing support for PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, browsers, smart TVs and even some Linux setups. The idea is simple: wherever there is a screen, NVIDIA wants to let you tap into RTX power without worrying about local GPU specs, heat or upgrades.
New games and cloud ready adventures
The anniversary celebration is not just about new platforms. NVIDIA is also adding more games to the GeForce NOW library, giving members fresh reasons to jump into the cloud and try new genres.
One standout addition is Torment Tides of Numenera, a story heavy role playing game from inXile Entertainment. Set in the far future Ninth World, it trades typical hero saves the world plots for deep conversations, difficult choices and strange sci fi fantasy vibes. You play as the Last Castoff, linked to a powerful, mysterious figure, and your decisions shape the narrative in meaningful ways. On GeForce NOW, it becomes easy to drop into this dense world from any supported device and pick up your save right where you left off.
If you are more into retro arcade energy, a wave of Capcom titles is landing on the service as well:
- Mega Man 11 brings classic 2D platforming with a modern visual refresh and tight, challenging stages
- Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection bundles a dozen historic Street Fighter titles, with online arcade mode in four of the most iconic entries
- Capcom Fighting Collection packs 10 classic fighters from series like Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and Cyberbots, plus the first home console style release of Red Earth
- Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle lets you relive side scrolling co op brawlers with seven classic titles and various online options
These are perfect for big screen couch sessions, and Fire TV support makes that setup much more accessible. Just sync a controller, fire up the app and you are reliving arcade battles and beat em up marathons without dragging a console into the lounge.
A darker choice for co op fans is Reanimal, a creepy cute horror adventure where a brother and sister navigate a twisted world full of unsettling puzzles and threats. It leans into teamwork and staying close together to survive, which makes it a fun co op option to stream to the TV for shared scares.
Alongside those titles, NVIDIA is highlighting a few more cloud ready games now playable through GeForce NOW:
- Disciples Domination a new release on Steam flagged as GeForce RTX 5080 ready
- Reanimal also a new Steam release, with RTX 5080 ready support
- Kingdom Come Deliverance available through Xbox and on Game Pass, offering realistic medieval role playing
- Torment Tides of Numenera playable via Steam and Xbox, including Game Pass support
All of these can be streamed from the cloud, so you do not need to worry about whether your own GPU can handle them. That is the core appeal of GeForce NOW: decoupling what you can play from what is inside your case or under your TV.
Between the Fire TV app, a growing library of supported games and the flexibility to play across devices, NVIDIA is clearly pushing GeForce NOW as a central piece of the modern gaming setup. Whether you are a PC enthusiast who wants big screen options without another console, or a more casual player who simply wants access to quality titles without a gaming rig, this latest update makes cloud gaming a lot more living room friendly.
