Elden Ring Nightreign By The Numbers
Bandai Namco has shared a fresh batch of stats for Elden Ring Nightreign to celebrate the launch of The Forsaken Hollows DLC, and the numbers tell some surprising stories about how players are actually tackling this co op roguelite mode.
The infographic breaks down everything from the deadliest field bosses to the most used gestures and nightfarers. If you have been grinding Nightreign runs with friends, a lot of this data will either validate your experiences or completely flip your expectations.
The Deadliest Nightreign Field Bosses
One of the biggest shocks from the stats is which bosses are actually killing players the most. Many fans expected the infamous Bell Bearing Hunter to top the list, thanks to his reputation from the base game and his brutal presence in Nightreign. Instead, he does not even crack the top three.
According to Bandai Namco, the deadliest field bosses are:
- Erdtree Avatar
- Draconic Tree Sentinel
- Royal Carian Knight
Royal Carian Knight, based on Loretta from the main game, takes the number one spot as the deadliest. She has always been a challenging opponent but few predicted she would be at the very top. Her attacks are varied, punishing, and can quickly overwhelm players who get greedy or fail to respect her spacing.
Draconic Tree Sentinel comes in high on the list for reasons that will be familiar to most Elden Ring veterans. He is brutally aggressive, hard hitting, and comes loaded with powerful ranged attacks. His sniper style fireballs can delete unprepared players in one hit, especially in Nightreign where mistakes are punished even more harshly during a run.
The biggest curveball is Erdtree Avatar appearing as one of the deadliest bosses. In the original Elden Ring, this boss is usually seen as slow and predictable. In Nightreign though, the stats suggest that this apparent simplicity might be its real strength. The Nightreign version is tankier, hits harder, and can catch players who underestimate it. It is often better saved for later in a run when your team is properly leveled and comfortable with the arena.
The infographic also notes castle defending Pot Trolls sitting at number five on the threat list. They are not technically bosses, but they are clearly ending a lot of runs, which will resonate with anyone who has had a co op push ruined by a badly timed pot toss.
Gestures, Revives, And Nightfarer Popularity
The Nightreign stats do not just cover enemies. Bandai Namco also highlighted the most used gestures and skins, plus just how many players have been brought back from the brink.
Two gestures dominate Nightreign:
- Spread Out, the laid back "I am just going to take five" style emote
- Golden Order Totality, a full on T pose that players use to flex or celebrate
Golden Order Totality is the most used gesture in Nightreign, which makes a lot of sense for a mode built around co op chaos. Many groups have turned it into a ritual, T posing at the end of every successful run as a victory pose.
The number of revives is also staggering. Across Nightreign runs there have been about 1.2 billion revives in total. That gives a good sense of how punishing and replayable the mode is. Players are constantly getting knocked down, picked up, and pushed to continue deeper into each night.
Bandai Namco also showcased the most popular skins for each nightfarer. If you take those skin numbers as rough proxies for overall character use, you can form a power ranking of which nightfarers players are picking most often:
- Wylder 18 million uses Abysswalker
- Ironeye 17.3 million Sellsword
- Recluse 11.2 million Darkness
- Duchess 10.3 million Darkness
- Raider 9.6 million Remembrance
- Executor 8.7 million Darkness
- Revenant 8.6 million Darkness
- Guardian 4.1 million Dawn
Wylder sits at the top with the Abysswalker style, closely followed by Ironeye. These two clearly fit the fantasy a lot of players are looking for in Nightreign, likely combining strong damage with a playstyle that feels powerful and responsive in a co op setting.
On the other end of the spectrum sits Guardian, with a much lower usage count. This avian halberdier has not won over the community in large numbers yet, and it is hard to see that changing quickly now that The Forsaken Hollows has added more compelling nightfarer options.
The Forsaken Hollows And New Nightfarers
The Forsaken Hollows DLC adds new content and nightfarers that are already shaping how players approach Nightreign. Bandai Namco’s post calls out two new characters in particular as standouts that could shift the popularity rankings over time.
The Scholar is a strange but entertaining hybrid of support and damage. This nightfarer can help keep the team alive while still contributing solid offense, making them a flexible pick for groups that like to push deep into runs.
The Undertaker, though, is described as the real star of the show. This nightfarer is mobile, aggressive, and hits hard. The Undertaker’s ultimate ability is especially noteworthy. It is strong enough that players are already hoping it does not get nerfed anytime soon. For co op teams who enjoy high tempo, in your face combat, Undertaker looks like a go to pick.
Overall, the Nightreign stats paint a picture of a mode where players lean into stylish gestures, clutch revives, and powerful aggressive nightfarers while quietly getting destroyed by bosses that might not look intimidating at first glance. With The Forsaken Hollows now live and new characters entering the mix, it will be interesting to see how these rankings change as players experiment with fresh builds and strategies on PC.
