Bandai Namco has shared some exciting news for Elden Ring fans. The new expansion for Elden Ring, called Shadow of the Erdtree, has already sold 10 million copies. For comparison, the main Elden Ring game has reached over 30 million copies sold. There is also a new multiplayer game called Elden Ring Nightreign, which launched at the end of May and has quickly reached 5 million sales.
About one out of every three Elden Ring players has picked up the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This shows just how popular and loved the base game is. Both the expansion and Nightreign are known for being very challenging, but that has not stopped players from diving in.
Nightreign continues the tradition of tough battles, and the developers have released new versions of bosses to make the game even more exciting. These upgraded bosses have extra difficult stages, satisfying players looking for more intense challenges.
The game director has said that Nightreign is not designed as a live service game. This means players should not expect constant updates or lots of new content over time. However, there was a hint on the Steam page that more downloadable content might be coming in the future.
Right now, the future of the Elden Ring series is uncertain, but with sales this strong, there will likely be more adventures to come. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has built on what made the base game great and delivered a fitting and memorable conclusion for fans.
