EA faced problems on Battlefield 6's launch day when some players who pre ordered the game could not access it through the EA App. This glitch caused error messages saying players were missing game content or needed to buy the game again, even though they already owned it. The issue was a major frustration for excited fans eager to play right away.
To make up for this mistake, EA fixed the glitch and offered gifts to the affected players as an apology. Anyone who was unable to play because of the problem has been given 24 boosts that make it easier to earn experience points in the game. These boosts can be used whenever the player prefers. In addition, affected players will receive the Season One battle pass for free. If the player bought the premium Phantom edition, they will also get the Season Two battle pass at no extra cost.
Despite the rough start with the EA App, Battlefield 6 has otherwise enjoyed a strong release. The game looks great on PC and most players had little trouble logging in once the initial problem was sorted out. Some players were told by the head of Battlefield to refund their game and buy it on Steam, but those who waited received the bonus content. Feedback from early reviews has been mostly positive, with many saying Battlefield 6 is an exciting return to form for the series.
