Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a popular strategy game for PC where players control fleets of spaceships in tactical battles set in the Battlestar Galactica universe. However, the game and all its expansion packs will no longer be available to buy anywhere after November 15. This means that if you want to own the game, you need to purchase it before it is removed from all digital stores next week.
The publisher Slitherine announced that Deadlock is being taken off all platforms but did not say exactly why. It is likely because a license agreement has ended. If you already own Deadlock or buy it before the deadline, you will be able to keep playing it as usual without any problems.
Deadlock is set during the First Cylon War and is known for its unique combat system. During battles, both players issue their commands at the same time, trying to predict what their opponent will do. This adds a layer of excitement and strategy that fans of space and tactics games really enjoy.
Many players believe that Deadlock does a great job capturing the intense feeling of the Battlestar Galactica TV show, especially the risks and challenges of leading a space fleet in a war.
This is not the first time Slitherine has removed games from sale. Earlier in the year, it also delisted two Warhammer 40000 games from Steam. Unlike those games, which are still available on other platforms, Deadlock is being completely removed from every online store.
Although it is disappointing for fans to see Deadlock go, there is good news for Battlestar Galactica supporters. A new game called Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes will be released next year. This new game will feature real time tactical battles and a new way to command fleets across the galaxy. Only time will tell if it can replace what made Deadlock special.
