AMD Adds FSR 4 Support for Cyberpunk 2077 with Latest Driver Update

AMD has released a new Adrenalin graphics driver that now brings FSR 4 technology to Cyberpunk 2077 and six other games. FSR 4 is AMD's advanced tool for improving game graphics using machine learning. It helps boost frame rates and visual quality, similar to Nvidia's DLSS feature which has been available on many games for a while.

This update means that Cyberpunk 2077 players with compatible AMD graphics cards can now enjoy better visuals and smoother performance. Along with Cyberpunk 2077, the games Wuchang Fallen Feathers, Mafia The Old Country, Arena Breakout Infinite, Game of Thrones Kingsroad, Wreckfest 2, and Lies of P also received FSR 4 support. While this is a small selection compared to Nvidia's long list of supported games, it is still a positive step forward for AMD users.

One reason FSR 4 is not yet widely used is that it currently only works on a handful of AMD graphics cards. Only two RX 9070 models and three RX 9060 models can use it. By comparison, FSR 3 works with many more AMD cards. This limited compatibility is similar to what Nvidia experienced when its DLSS feature first launched and was only available on a few graphics cards.

As more AMD cards support FSR 4 in the future, we can expect more games to add this feature. For now, if you have an RDNA 4 graphics card, you can download the latest Adrenalin driver and try out FSR 4 in Cyberpunk 2077 and other supported titles.
